Preview
Oklahoma returned to above .500 in Big-12 play following a solid 2-0 week. They blew past BYU in a key win, before having a close call against Oklahoma State. The Sooners sit comfortably within the projected NCAA Tournament field, but aren’t a total lock yet. Another road win or two could be enough to get them where they need to be. Oklahoma has a great opportunity to do just that in this matchup against Baylor.
Baylor had their 3-game winning streak snapped at Kansas on Saturday. Despite the loss, it was a great performance from the Bears, as they lost by just 3 points on the road. They’ll aim to get back in the win column against Oklahoma, with 4 of their next 6 games coming against ranked teams. Baylor is currently projected to receive a 3-seed in the NCAA Tournament, but can climb the seed line further with a win.
Prediction
This game projects as another hotly contested matchup in a stacked Big-12 conference. Baylor has few notable advantages here. They have been playing better basketball than Oklahoma lately, and will also have the home-court advantage in this game. I wouldn’t completely count the Sooners out, but they’ll certainly be facing an uphill battle against the Bears. I’ll take Baylor to win this one at home by seven.
