Preview
Texas Tech continued their hot play last week, earning yet another ranked win. They climbed to outright 1st place in the Big-12 following their victory. The Red Raiders passed their first major test of the season after a weaker non-conference schedule, but will continue to face a gauntlet in the Big-12. This game at TCU will be another key test for Texas Tech. Their defense has cooled off a bit, and needs to bounce back.
TCU won an incredible game at Baylor on Saturday, eventually taking them down in triple overtime. The Horned Frogs improved to 4-3 in Big-12 play, with three of those wins coming against top-15 teams. They face another highly ranked team in Texas Tech at home in this game, with a chance to climb further up the top-25 rankings. TCU currently projects as a 6-seed in the tourney, sitting pretty safely in the field of 68.
Prediction
Both TCU and Texas Tech have been playing excellent basketball lately, as they navigate through their brutal Big-12 schedules. They would likely match up pretty evenly on a neutral court. However, on TCU’s home court, the Horned Frogs should have a notable advantage. I still see this game coming down to the wire, but I’ll ultimately take the TCU to pull away with a contested win at home against the Red Raiders.
