Preview
Washington saw their undefeated start end at the hands of Louisville, falling to 11-1 following the loss. That game took place back on December 20, with the Huskies taking 15 days off between that and their next game against California. Despite their long break, Washington will be thrust right back into the mix with this game at #8 Stanford following it. The Huskies have one of the nation’s best defenses this season.
Stanford continues to rank in the top-10 as a perennial contender to win it all. Despite that, they are the third highest ranked team in an excellent Pac-12. With games against #2 UCLA and #5 Colorado on the schedule in the next month, the Cardinal will need to capitilize on building momentum in matchups like this. F Cameron Brink has been sensational this season, and will continue to stake her claim for NPOY.
Prediction
As great as Washington has been this season, they’ll face a difficult task in this game against Stanford. While their defense has been sensational, their offense has been far more suspect, and was their biggest flaw in the loss against Louisville. With Cameron Brink’s presence down low, it will be difficult for the Huskies to score consistently. I see Stanford winning what should be a relatively low-scoring matchup.
NCAAW Picks:
- Stanford 67, Washington 55 ()
