Preview
Alabama continued to roll last week against LSU, looking the part of a team that is in contention for the CFP and an SEC title. The Crimson Tide have no margin for error in the CFP race with a loss to Texas, but have now won seven straight games. Winning out is their path to make it, and that continues with a sneakily tough test on the road against Kentucky. QB Jalen Milroe continues to get better every week.
Kentucky finally got back in the win column against Mississippi State, climbing to 6-3. They have one of their toughest tests so far this week against Alabama, with an opportunity to climb back into the top-25 if they win. The Wildcats are now bowl eligible for the 8th consecutive season, a credit to head coach Mark Stoops who took over in 2013. Kentucky is still seeking their first win over Alabama in the last 25 seasons.
Prediction
The Wildcats opened the season 5-0, climbing as high as #20 in the rankings. Since then, they’ve gone just 1-3 and have not looked all that competitive. They should carry some momentum from last week’s win into this game, but I’d be very surprised if it was enough to come away victorious. I see Alabama maybe starting slow, before eventually coasting to a multiple score victory over Kentucky on the road.
