Fresno State remains the only ranked Group of 5 team at #24, after improving to 5-0 last week. They failed to cover the spread against 0-4 Nevada, and didn’t look as confident as past games. They’ll aim to bounce back this week against Wyoming. The Bulldogs NY6 chances hinge on their ability to win road games like this one. Malik Sherrod will aim for another big game after rushing for 123 yards and a TD against Nevada.

Wyoming improved to 4-1 last week, now only two wins away from bowl eligibility. The Cowboys’ only loss came at #3 Texas, who they took into the 4th quarter tied 10-10. At the same time, Wyoming’s wins have not come by the largest margins. This week’s game against Fresno State will be a key test to see if they are a contender to win the Mountain West this season. If they win here, they’ll join the NY6 conversation.

Prediction

This is a dangerous game for Fresno State, matched up on the road against a Wyoming team with wins against Texas Tech and App State. The Bulldogs will need to play much better than they did last week to avoid getting upset. This should a premier Mountain West matchup that will likely come down to the wire.
