  • LSU came up short at Ole Miss last week, losing by a score of 55-49.
  • Missouri took down Vanderbilt on the road, 38-21, improving to 5-0.
  • These two teams last met on October 10, 2020, in a game Missouri won 45-41.

The college football season is heating up! Let’s take a look at the upcoming LSU vs Missouri matchup. LSU is aiming to avoid their 3rd defeat, while Missouri is seeking to improve to 6-0 in this battle of the Tigers.

Preview

LSU lost in a shootout against Ole Miss, falling 55-49. The defeat dropped the Tigers to 3-2 on the year, though they remained ranked in the top-25. That’ll change if they can’t overcome a ranked opponent this week at Missouri. LSU got an excellent game from QB Jayden Daniels last week. He completed 27 of 36 passes for 414 yards and 4 TDs, and also ran for 100 yards and a TD. They’ll need the defense to improve.

Missouri improved to 5-0 on the season with their win over Vanderbilt last week. As one of the final 22 unbeaten teams, the Tigers are just one win away from claiming bowl eligibility. Their hopes are set much higher than that now though, with games against Georgia, Kentucky, and Tennessee on the horizon. Missouri can prove if they are a legitimate CFP contender by winning this game comfortably against LSU.

Prediction

This should be another exciting matchup between two ranked SEC teams. LSU entered this season with much higher expectations, but has fallen well short of them so far. They may still have the more talented roster, but Missouri certainly can’t be counted out, especially at home. In this battle of the Tigers, I’m leaning towards taking the home team to win it, despite Missouri entering this game as 6-point underdogs.
