Miami-Ohio climbed to 10-2 with their win over Ball State last week, earning a spot in the MAC title game. The Redhawks reached a double-digit win total for the first time since 2010. This will be their 6th time appearing in the MAC Championship Game. They are 0-5 so far, still seeking their first MAC title. Miami will have to overcome the defending champions to break that streak. Their stellar defense will be the key here.

Toledo continued their winning ways last week, surging past Central Michigan. The Rockets have won 11 straight games since narrowly losing their opener at Illinois. They will now have a chance to win back-to-back MAC titles for the first time since 2001-02. Toledo remains out of the CFP rankings, but sits at #23 in the AP Top 25. They’ll aim to repeat their previous performance against Miami that resulted in a victory.

Prediction

When these two teams last met a month ago, they played each other well. Toledo jumped out ahead early on, but Miami-OH didn’t allow them to pull away until the final minutes. I expect a similarly competitive game here, with it coming down to the wire. Ultimately, I see Toledo winning this matchup again, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Redhawks pull off the upset. I’ll take the Rockets to win it, but not cover.
