Preview

Miami had one of the most disappointing, stunning losses I’ve seen since the last time a Mario Cristobal-led team had one one of the disappointing, stunning losses I’ve seen five years ago in Oregon. It’s insane to see a coach make an objectively terrible decision to not kneel the ball and win, costing his team the game twice in his career. The Hurricanes are still ranked, but they need to consider their coach’s future.

North Carolina had no trouble taking down Syracuse, improving to 5-0. They remain among the ACC’s final three unbeaten teams. The other two, Florida State and Louisville, are not on the Tar Heels schedule, giving them a unique opportunity to claim a spot in the ACC title game. This game against Miami is one of their two remaining ranked matchups. QB Drake Maye continues to play an elite level for the Tar Heels.

Prediction

After a brutal collapse last week, Miami will likely come into this game playing angry football, desperately fighting to avoid an 0-2 start in conference play. That may be enough to keep them in contention during this game, but winning is an entirely different story. North Carolina will be the best offense the Hurricanes have seen all year. I see Drake Maye leading the Tar Heels to a 6-0 record and bowl eligibility in this game.
