West Virginia dropped to 4-2 last week following a close loss to Houston. The Mountaineers have exceeded expectations this season after being picked to finish last in the Big-12’s preseason poll. Their defense struggled against Houston, allowing 41 points, and will need to take a big step forward here.

Prediction

Both of these teams have improved this season after struggling last year, and are closing in on bowl eligibility. While a loss wouldn’t be detrimental to their hopes, a win would be massively beneficial. I see these two teams matching up pretty evenly, so I’m leaning towards taking the home team here. As long as West Virginia bounces back on defense, they should be able to get the win this week and improve to 5-2.
