  • Ole Miss completely dominated Mercer, winning by a score of 73-7.
  • Tulane defeated a tough South Alabama squad, 37-17, in their opener.
  • These two teams last met on September 18, 2021, in a game Ole Miss won 61-21.

Week 2 of the college football season is upon us. Let’s preview the upcoming Ole Miss vs Tulane game.

Preview

Ole Miss had no trouble taking down FCS Mercer in their opener. Aside from a 75-yard touchdown run in the 1st quarter, the Rebels defense completely shut down the Bears. On offense, they were equally dominant, scoring 73 points with the lone flaw being a fumble by RB Ulysses Bentley IV. The Rebels were expected to blow Mercer out, so this week’s game against Tulane will be a much better test of their ability.

Tulane proved they are just as dangerous as last season with their 20-point win over South Alabama. The Jaguars were a 10-win team last season, but Tulane dominated them from start to finish. The Green Wave are coming off a 12-win season and Cotton Bowl win, and are the Group of 5 favorite to make another top bowl game. QB Michael Pratt was nearly perfect, completing 14 of 15 passes for 294 yards and 4 TDs.

Prediction

This should be one of the week’s best games. Both of these teams are on the rise, and dominated their opponents in week 1. Ole Miss won more confidently, but Tulane face the tougher opposition. I’m really tempted to pick the Green Wave to win this game, but I’m also pretty high on Ole Miss this season. This should be an reasonably high-scoring game. I’ll take Ole Miss to win here, but Tulane to cover the spread.

NCAAF Picks:
