Preview
Oregon had a week off to prepare for their biggest game of the season so far. They head on the road to face #7 Washington in a game that may decide one of the Pac-12 championship participants. The Ducks have one key advantage to exploit against Washington. They have the top-ranked running game, against a mediocre Huskies running defense. They need to avoid falling behind early to take full advantage of that.
Washington also had a bye week to prepare for their biggest game of the year so far. They’ll host Oregon and face them with the nation’s most efficient offense. The Huskies will aim to run up the score early and force Bo Nix to pass without the support of his run game. They have the advantage on offense, but they’ll need to be near perfect on defense to close this one out. Tackling will be a major factor for Washington.
Prediction
This has potential to be one of the best games of the entire college football season so far. The winner of this game will rise to the top of the Pac-12, with their CFP hopes skyrocketing to new heights. Both teams are incredibly balanced with several assets to take advantage of it. Oregon’s advantage of a strong running game may be less pertinent late in the game, so I’m leaning towards taking Washington to win it at home.
