Preview
Tennessee had no trouble against UConn, winning and climbing a handful of spots in the rankings. A victory this week could launch the Volunteers into the top-10, though their hopes of making the CFP are basically gone. Even so, Tennessee still has the opportunity to make an excellent bowl game, and get a statement win in this game. Their offense has been stellar recently, which they’ll need against Missouri.
Missouri played well in a tough contest against Georgia, but ultimately came up short. They are now in a similar position to Tennessee, likely out of CFP contention but with much still to play for. The Tigers have surprised all year long, and have an opportunity to get a signature win at home in this game. Their defense has been solid this season, but was exposed in their losses. They need to be at their best in this game.
Prediction
This should be a very competitive matchup between these two top-15 teams. Both have surpassed their expectations, but couldn’t quite crack the top of the conference. In this game, Missouri’s home-field advantage will be key with both teams matching up evenly. I wouldn’t be surprised if this game ends up more high-scoring than expected. I’ll take the Tigers to pull off the minor upset at home in this matchup.
