The college football season is in full swing. Let’s preview the upcoming Texas A&M vs Tennessee game. Both of these teams are attempting to climb up the SEC standings, as they also approach bowl eligibility.

Preview

Texas A&M came up short in a close game against Alabama. Picking up a 2nd loss likely eliminated the Aggies from CFP contention, but they can still make the SEC title game with a strong second half. Texas A&M is still waiting for their defense to click. Despite being loaded with top-tier talent, they’ve struggled to fully put it together. They’ll look to improve against a Tennessee team with a pretty inexperienced offense.

Tennessee had a full week to rest up and prepare for this game against Texas A&M. They’ll be aiming to build on their success against UTSA and South Carolina in Weeks 4 and 5, who they outscored 86-34. It will be a much tougher task to score that much against the Aggies, but the Volunteers need to at least be better on offense than they were against Florida. QB Joe Milton III is still seeking his first 300 yard game.

Prediction

Tennessee is the favorite in this game as both the ranked team and the home team. Despite that, I almost feel as though they are truly the underdogs in this matchup. Their offense has struggled to repeat last season’s success with so many new pieces, and will face a pretty tough defense this week. I expect this game to be close, but I’m ultimately leaning towards taking Texas A&M to pull off the upset on the road.
