Wyoming pulled off the upset against Fresno State last week, as we had projected. They’ll face their 2nd consecutive undefeated opponent this week against Air Force. It will be a tougher task to get the win on the road, but the Cowboys have proven they can compete with any team. Their lone defeat came against Texas, who they ended the 3rd quarter tied 10-10 against. Wyoming’s run defense will be crucial this week.

Air Force was on a bye last week. They had the opportunity to spend that time watching and analyzing the Cowboys win over Fresno State last week, giving them a chance to avoid a similar result. The Falcons would likely rise into the AP Top 25 with a win here, and would remain the Group of 5 frontrunner to make a NY6 bowl. They need to avoid falling behind early on, in order to capitalize on their elite rushing game.

Prediction

I’m genuinely surprised to see such a large spread for this game. I’ve been a big proponent for both these teams this season, as both have been truly underrated. Air Force’s metrics are more than good enough to deserve a top-25 spot, but Wyoming is also very capable. We took the Cowboys to upset Fresno State last week and it paid off. Here, I don’t have them winning at Air Force, but I do see them covering the spread.
