Denver came up short in Houston on Sunday, which snapped their 5-game winning streak. Despite the loss, the Broncos played another solid game, continuing to perform astronomically better on defense than they had in the first two months of the season. If the Broncos manage to stay consistent on defense, they are an offensive breakout away from making the playoffs. This is a must-win game against Los Angeles.

The Chargers shut out the Patriots in New England, a feat that hadn’t been accomplished in 7 years. While their defensive performance against a hapless Patriots team was encouraging, their total lack of offense raised some major concerns. Their offensive line has dealt with some injuries, but there are still massive questions as to how such a loaded offense can do so poorly each week. Brandon Staley is on the hot seat.

Prediction

Coming into this season, or even entering the month of November, I would have easily taken the Chargers to win this game. Now, I’m far less certain. They do have the advantage of being at home, and are coming off of a good defensive win. That being said, they’ve looked unimpressive all season, losing many games they could have won. Meanwhile, the Broncos remain red-hot. I’m taking Denver to win here on the road.
