Preview
The Commanders bounced back against the Falcons on Sunday, improving to 3-3 on the year. They now sit just two games out of 1st place in the division. QB Sam Howell had perhaps the best start of his career in the win, completing 14 of 23 passes for 151 yards, 3 TDs, and 0 INTs. On the other hand, Washington’s run game struggled for the 3rd straight week. The defense and passing game will have to carry for now.
New York’s defense finally improved in Sunday night’s loss to the Bills. They took a much-needed step forward in their tackling, which helped to limit big gains. That being said, they still finished the game with zero sacks, and just one takeaway. On offense, the Giants saw a notable improvement in the running game with Saquon Barkley back, but also regressed without starting QB Daniel Jones. They need him back here.
Prediction
The result of this game could change considerably based on whether or not Daniel Jones and Andrew Thomas play for the Giants. If they do, this could be a great chance for the Giants to build on their defensive success from last week and get back in the win column. If they don’t, Washington’s defense will be difficult to overcome. They’re leaning towards playing, so I see New York getting the win at home here.
