Preview
The Cowboys had another very solid regular season, going 12-5 on the year. Unfortunately, their playoff woes continued, as they failed to make it past the divisional round once again. Dallas will be aiming to end a 27-year NFC championship drought this season. They have a stacked roster led by WR CeeDee Lamb, RB Tony Pollard, and LB Micah Parsons. QB Dak Prescott needs to be more secure with the ball this year.
New York took a major step forward in year one under head coach Brian Daboll, finishing with 9 wins and making the playoffs. They upset in the Vikings in the first round, but were dominated by the Eagles after that. The Giants are hoping they can take another step forward in year two under Daboll, with the addition of TE Darren Waller. Two rookie cornerbacks starting could be dangerous for the Giants if they struggle.
Prediction
This should be an excellent first Sunday Night Football matchup. The Giants have lost 10 of the last 11 games against the Cowboys, and Daniel Jones has never won a head-to-head matchup with Dak Prescott. That being said, New York is primed for the upset this season. While they still have some holes, I expect the coaching staff to make the most of a speedy offense and defense. Getting pressure on Dak will be key.
