Philadelphia lost badly to the 49ers on Sunday. Their defense was picked apart by Brock Purdy and San Francisco’s stacked offensive lineup. It’s a bit of a concern for an Eagles team who have been reliant on their defense in tough games over the past two seasons. Their defense being unable to stop the Chiefs cost them a Super Bowl, and will definitely be something to address in this game against the Cowboys.

The Cowboys improved to 9-3 with their win over the Seahawks on Thursday. They now have a chance to both redeem their Week 8 loss, and claim a share of the NFC East division’s lead. They’ll need to beat a dangerous Eagles team to do so. That being said, they nearly accomplished it on the road, and will be at home this time around. Like the Eagles, Dallas is in need of a bounce back from their usually solid defense.

Prediction

This should be an exciting and potentially high-scoring matchup in a game between two of the NFC’s best teams. If the Eagles win, they’ll claim a 2-game lead in the division, and lock down the tiebreaker over Dallas as well, skyrocketing their odds to win the NFC East. If the Cowboys win, they’ll tie the Eagles for 1st place in the division, making the race wide open down the stretch. I expect the latter to happen here.
