Preview
Atlanta claimed the NFC South lead from the Bucs after beating them in Tampa Bay. It was their first road win of the year, and a crucial one for the Falcons hopes of winning the division. Their defense has been excellent, allowing no more than 24 points in any game this year. With Bijan Robinson not feeling his best, Tyler Allgeier took over the bulk of the work to aid the offense. TE Kyle Pitts also had a game-saving grab.
The Titans had a bye week to rest up and recover for this matchup. QB Ryan Tannehill is still banged up, making Tennessee’s situation seem even more hopeless as they sit in last place in the AFC South. That being said, Tannehill wasn’t playing well when healthy, so the Titans may benefit from giving some reps to 2022 3rd-round pick Malik Willis and 2023 2nd-round pick Will Levis. They need the defense to aid them.
Prediction
This game is a bit hard to predict with the status of Ryan Tannehill uncertain, but the Titans are likely to be at as disadvantage regardless. Atlanta’s defense has played consistently solid football this season, and will undoubtedly be a test for any QB that sees the field for Tennessee. While the Titans do have the home-field advantage, and may keep it close, I ultimately see the Falcons winning here and covering the spread.
