  • New York was unable to compete with Miami, losing 31-16, and dropping to 1-4.
  • The Bills fell to 3-2 on the season, after losing 25-20 to the Jaguars in London.
  • These two teams last met on September 15, 2019, in a game that the Bills won 28-14.

The NFL season is in full swing. Let’s preview the upcoming Giants vs Bills matchup. New York continues to work their way through a brutal schedule, while Buffalo will be aiming to use this game to bounce back.

Preview

The Giants continued to struggle on both sides of the ball in their Week 5 loss to the Dolphins. They took marginal steps forward in a few key areas, perhaps providing a bit of hope. Unfortunately, QB Daniel Jones also suffered a neck injury in the defeat. New York’s offensive line, which has been depleted by injuries, has posted historically bad results through 5 games. RB Saquon Barkley also remains injured and inactive.

Buffalo had a slow offensive performance after taking the long trip overseas, scoring just 7 points in the first three quarters. QB Josh Allen eventually got it going, hitting his top two WRs, Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, for a combined 14 receptions for 221 yards and 2 TDs. Unfortunately, the running game was not nearly as successful, averaging just 2 ypc as a team. They will aim to improve that quite a bit this week.

Prediction

It’s hard to imagine the Giants competing well in this game with QB Daniel Jones, RB Saquon Barkely, and OT Andrew Thomas all on the injury report. Their subpar defense was already going to be on the ropes in Buffalo, but now the offense is unlikely to keep them off the field much either. I expect a game similar to New York’s result against Miami, where they trail from start to finish and lose to Buffalo by double digits.
