Preview

The Jets had the week off to prepare for this matchup against the Giants. After upsetting the Eagles in Week 6, they’ll look to build even more momentum. A win would improve the Jets record to 4-3, giving them a real shot to make the playoffs. Their offense has struggled under Zach Wilson, but has done just enough with the support of an elite defense. They’ll try to take advantage of the Giants offensive troubles.

After defeating Washington, the Giants improved to 2-5. They’re still in a hole, but took a step in the right direction finally. They may get Andrew Thomas and Daniel Jones back for this game, which would make them more competitive. As their schedule softens, the Giants need to win as often as possible to keep their rapidly diminishing playoff chances alive. They’ll need to start with a win over a tough Jets defense.

Prediction

The Giants are technically at home for this game, but neither team really benefits from home-field advantage in a shared stadium. With this game at an essentially neutral location, the result will come down to purely the abilities of each team. The Giants need Daniel Jones and Andrew Thomas back to have a chance, but if they do, their resurgent defense should cause the Jets fits. I’ll take the Giants here by a FG.
