  • The Cardinals defeated the Falcons 23-25 on Sunday.
  • The Texans beat the Bengals 30-27 in week 10.
  • These teams have met just 5 times previously, with the Cardinals leading the series 3-2-0.

The 2-8 Arizona Cardinals take on the 5-4 Houston Texans in this week 11 matchup. The Texans have performed above expectation this season and a good end to the season could still see them make the playoffs.

Game Preview

The Cardinals had a great comeback with QB Kyler Murray returning to lead the team to a victory in week 10. Murray completed 19 out of 32 passes, throwing for 249 yards with one interception. He also rushed six times for 33 yards and scored a touchdown. Lead back James Conner also returned from injury, but he struggled against a tough Falcons defense. The Cardinals have since signed Michael Carter, who was released by the Jets, as Conner’s backup.

The Texans secured a 30-27 win over the Bengals thanks to an incredible 40 second drive down the field, resulting in a walk-off field goal. Houston has become one of the most exciting teams to watch in the NFL in recent weeks, with rookie C.J. Stroud stealing the show. The 22-year-old quarterback completed 23/39 passes for 356 yards and a touchdown, whilst also finding the endzone with a rushing touchdown. Running back Devon Singletary had a career game, posting 150 yards and one score on 30 carries. His workload will likely remain high as Dameon Pierce is set to miss a third week with an ankle injury.

Prediction

With Murray back under center for Arizona this matchup should be a close, entertaining game. The Cardinals carry a threat but the Texans look primed for an unexpected playoff push. I believe Houston is capable of winning here to help their cause.
