Game Preview

The Cardinals’ defense was outmatched by the Rams in their 37-14 loss during week 12. Throughout the game, Kyler Murray was forced to rely heavily on his passing game as they were behind for the majority of the match. The 26-year-old completed 27 out of 45 passes, gaining 256 yards and scoring one touchdown. He also had a successful rush for a touchdown. Trey McBride, the team’s tight end, sustained a groin injury against Los Angeles and was limited in practice on Thursday; however, he is expected to play on Sunday. On Thursday, Arizona also waived veteran tight end, Zach Ertz, placing more emphasis on McBride as the future of the franchise’s tight end position.

The Pittsburgh Steelers looked like an entirely different team after firing their offensive co-ordinator, Matt Canada. Their week 12, 16-10 victory over Cincinnati showcased several positives. Tight end Pat Freiermuth made a strong return from the Injured Reserve, posting his best game of the season with 9 receptions for 120 yards. Running back Najee Harris also showed significant improvement, rushing for 99 yards and scoring a touchdown on 15 carries. Given the Arizona Cardinals’ poor run defense, Najee and his fellow RB Jaylen Warren should have plenty of opportunities to shine.

Prediction

The Steelers were vastly improved last week and I expect them to have more than enough to win here against an Arizona team clearly focusing on next season.
