Game Preview
Indianapolis sealed a 31-28 overtime victory over the Titans thanks to a Michael Pittman touchdown with two minutes remaining. Pittman posted 105 yards on 11 receptions to go with his score. Fellow wide receiver Alec Pierce also had a fine game, catching 3 of 6 targets for 100 yards and a score, his first of the season. Without Jonathan Taylor, the Colts’ running game was inefficient and Zack Moss failed to make any headway, ending the game with 19 carries for just 51 yards.
The Bengals may be without Joe Burrow, but they played as if he was still at the helm on Monday night, picking up a 34-31 overtime win over the Jaguars. Jake Browning was imperious in Burrow’s absence, throwing 32/37 completions for 354 yards and 1 touchdown, and adding another score on the ground. RB Joe Mixon picked up two touchdowns from his 19 carries, amassing 68 yards in the process. Receiver Jamar Chase also had a fine game, with 11 receptions for 149 yards and a score, although he may not be asked to throw the ball again after his one play doing so ended up with a Browning reception for negative yards.
Prediction
The Colts are a team who i have previously described as “sneaky good”, they go under the radar and slowly pick up wins. Even without Burrow, the Bengals will provide a stern test for Indy, and this one could be a coin flip to decide a winner. I’ll side with the Bengals at home, but I wouldn’t be surprised by any outcome here.
