  • The Bears beat the Falcons 17-37 in week 17.
  • The Packers won 33-10 against the Vikings last time out.
  • These teams met in week 1, with the Packers winning 38-20.

The 7-9 Chicago Bears take on the 8-8 Green Bay Packers in this week 18, NFC North divisional matchup. The Packers need a win to ensure they reach the post-season without relying on the outcome of other games.

Game Preview

The Bears’ season comes to an end with a divisional matchup against the Packers on Sunday. Despite failing to reach the playoffs there is no expectation that Chicago will rest it’s key players, and QB Justin Fields, RB Khalil Herbert and WR D.J. Moore should all start the game. Darnell Mooney however looks set to miss the season closer, the 26-year-old receiver remains in concussion protocol and has missed two straight practices this week.

The Packers have question marks over a number of players, heading into a must win week 18 matchup with divisional rivals the Chicago Bears. Receivers Christian Watson (Hamstring) and Jayden Reed (Chest) both logged limited practices on Thursday, although fellow wideout Dontayvion Wicks appears to have overcome his chest injury and has been practicing in full. Running back A.J. Dillon sat out both practices so far this week, indicating that he is trending towards missing Sunday’s game. Patrick Taylor should serve as backup to Aaron Jones in Dillon’s absence.

Prediction

The Packers are favorites for this matchup but Watson and Reed would be big losses for Green Bay’s offense should they fail to suit up. I’ll side with the home team, but a Bears win wouldn’t be a huge upset in what many believe could be Justin Fields’ last game for Chicago.
