Game Preview
Denver quarterback Jarrett Stidham will be looking to earn his place as the starter for next season, as well as get one over on his former team when he takes on the Raiders in week 18. The 27-year-old has been a backup for all of his 4 year NFL career so far, but with the Broncos set to move on from Russell Wilson at the end of the season he has a chance to make the step up. RB Javonte Williams has disappointed so far this season, and is under pressure from rookie Jaleel McLaughlin to secure the starting berth next season.
Raiders’ RB Josh Jacobs has been ruled out for the final game of the season, so Zamir White will retain lead back duties here. The 24-year-old sophomore has impressed in the last 3 weeks when deputizing for Jacobs and could sign off for the year in style with another big performance. Many believe this will be receiver Davante Adams’ final appearance in a Raiders jersey, with a move to the Jets mooted by many reporters. The 31-year-old will find himself up against Broncos’ CB Patrick Surtain, so may be in for a tough afternoon.
Prediction
It’s no secret that I’m a Raiders fan, so this season has been a bumpy ride. I’m backing Las Vegas to get the job done here at home, and ensure the Broncos don’t end the season with a better record than them.
