Game Preview
QB Trevor Lawrence is pushing to play in week 18, despite carrying injuries to his right shoulder and left finger. With their playoff fate riding on victory in this matchup it will be no surprise to see the 24-year-old push through the pain barrier in order to suit up. WR Zay Jones managed to log limited practices this week after missing two weeks due to knee and hamstring injuries, his presence in the line-up would be a huge boost to the receiving corps. There is more good news for the Jacksonville offense, with WR Christian Kirk being activated from IR. If the 27-year-old does suit up his participation may be limited ahead of the Jaguars expected playoff berth.
With the Titans already eliminated from the playoff picture, quarterback Will Levis will be rested in order to fully recover from the foot injury he suffered last weekend. Ryan Tannehill will once again return to starting duties. RB Derrick Henry will be looking for a strong finish in what is probably his final game in a Titans jersey. Despite having a relatively poor season by his own standards, the veteran RB has racked up 1014 yards and 11 touchdowns from 261 carries from 16 appearances.
Prediction
Provided Trevor Lawrence manages to play through the pain once again I can’t see the Jaguars stumbling at this final hurdle. The Titans will be ready to spoil the Jacksonville party, but I still see the Jaguars getting the vital win here.
