  • The Packers cruised to a 38-20 victory over the Bears in week 1.
  • The Falcons ran out 10-24 winners over the Panthers on Sunday.
  • These teams last met in October 2020 with the Falcons losing 16-30.

Green Bay travels to Atlanta on Sunday as Jordan Love aims to become the latest star quarterback for the Packers following Aaron Rodgers’ move to the Jets. Falcons running back Bijan Robinson will be looking to carve out a legacy of his own though and this should be a lively encounter.

Game Preview

Jordan Love looked every bit the quintessential Green Bay quarterback in the Packers’ 38-20 win over the Chicago Bears in week 1. The 24-year-old threw 15 completions for 245 yards and three touchdowns, in his first start as the new face of the franchise, with Romeo Doubs (2) and Aaron Jones (1) on the receiving end. Jones added 41 yards and another score on the ground but tweaked his hamstring in the process and his status is worth monitoring before kickoff on Sunday.

Atlanta scored 14 unanswered points in the 4th quarter vs Carolina to ensure the Falcons came away 10-24 winners. Rookie running back sensation Bijan Robinson was undoubtedly the star of the show. The 21-year-old had 10 carries for 56 yards and caught all six targets for 27 yards and a touchdown. Tyler Allgeier added 75 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries and hauled in his three targets for 19 yards. The Falcons’ defense was impeccable and kept Carolina quiet with relative ease.

Prediction

These two teams match up pretty well and we should see a close encounter here on Sunday. Green Bay’s chances of success probably rest on the fitness outcomes of Aaron Jones and Christian Watson but assuming they take the field I fancy the Packers to sneak this one.
