  • The Chiefs defeated the Bears 10-41 on Sunday.
  • The Jets lost 15-10 vs. the Patriots in week 3.
  • These two teams last met in 2020 with the Chiefs winning 9-35.

The 2-1 Chiefs take on the 1-2 Jets in the last of Sunday’s week 4 matchups. Last week all eyes were on Taylor Swift as she cheered for Kansas City and Travis Kelce, this week’s viewing could be a lot less appealing.

Game Preview

The Jets are sticking with quarterback Zach Wilson, at least that’s the line HC Robert Saleh is sending out to the media at every opportunity this week. While that remains the case it is hard to see the Jets being anything other than dreadful. Wilson threw 18/36 for 157 and 1 score vs. the Patriots and, as disappointing as those numbers are, that is just the tip of the iceberg. With Breece Hall and Dalvin Cook in the backfield, the Jets should be able to run the ball well, but they aren’t, and if it wasn’t for the fact they have an elite defense we could be looking at a team that is on a par with the Broncos and Bears for awfulness.

Double coverage? It doesn’t matter, big Travis will simply shake it off. Okay so that’s the required Tay Tay joke inserted, now let’s look at the matchup. When Travis Kelce plays well, the Chiefs win. It is that simple. The elite TE demands attention and even when the ball isn’t being thrown his way, he creates room and opportunity for others. Kansas City has elite weapons on both sides of the ball, and DL Chris Jones has been instrumental since his week 2 return from holdout. The 310lb 29-year-old is listed as questionable with a groin injury as of Wednesday so his status will require monitoring.

Prediction

The Jets’ defense is great, but there is only so much it can do when it spends too much time on the field. Kansas City should win this one with relative ease.
