After a below par couple of week, Dallas running back Tony Pollard appeared on the injury report this week after logging a limited practice on Thursday. The 26-year-old lead back is listed as having a shoulder issue but it is felt he should be fine to suit up on Monday. QB Dak Prescott has failed to shine so far this season, so he will welcome this game against an average Los Angeles secondary. Rookie kicker Brandon Aubrey has been perfect so far this season, his 14/14 field goals setting a new franchise record.
The Chargers welcome star running back Austin Ekeler back into the fold for their week 6 matchup with the Cowboys. The 28-year-old had missed three games prior to the week 5 bye and the extra rest has helped him return to practice in full. Ekeler’s return adds another dimension to Los Angeles’ game, meaning they won’t be so reliant on WR Keenan Allen.
Prediction
The Cowboys were humbled and humiliated by the 49ers last week so I fully expect them to be fired up. Whilst the Chargers’ offense is potent, the Dallas defense has a point to prove. I’m going for a Cowboys win, but this could be a real slugfest of a matchup.
