Game Preview
Running Back Travis Etienne racked up his third consecutive two-score game as the Jaguars beat the Saints 31-24 on Thursday night. The 24-year-old has been electrifying so far this season and his stock is rising with every appearance. Wide receiver Christian Kirk is another Jaguar whose form has been terrific and the 5th year wideout caught all 6 of his targets in week 7, picking up 90 yards and his third touchdown of the season. The Jaguars are a team capable of going all the way this season.
The Steelers placed TE Pat Freiermuth on the IR shortly before their week 7 matchup with the Rams however they welcomed back WR Diontae Johnson after his stint on the sidelines. Whilst all three of Pittsburgh’s touchdowns came on the ground – through Najee Harris, Jaylen Warren and Kenny Pickett – it was a much improved passing game that carried them to victory. With Pickens able to move the chains effectively and the defense keeping Cooper Kupp quiet this was a much better Pittsburgh than we saw in their previous outing.
Prediction
The Jaguars are forcing people to take notice of them this season. Trevor Lawrence is looking like the quarterback we all believed he could be and I see him leading his team to victory here.
