The Raiders are expecting to have their starting quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo, back in action for their week 8 game against the Lions. Garoppolo missed the last game against the Bears due to a back injury and the team struggled offensively without him. The team’s star defensive lineman, Maxx Crosby, was listed as questionable after Thursday’s practice, and if he’s unable to play on Monday, the Raiders’ defense will likely suffer a significant blow.a
The Detroit Lions faced off against the Baltimore Ravens in week 7 and managed to score just one touchdown. Their defense has raised several questions, as they currently rank 20th in points allowed per game. Although their offense is ranked 7th in points scored per game, this is not a sustainable balance for winning football. Unfortunately, RB David Montgomery will probably miss this week’s game due to a rib injury. Rookie Jahmyr Gibbs will take over the majority of snaps in his absence.
Prediction
The Raiders’ defense has improved this season but they still spend too much time on the field. The Lions are a team who can hurt a team in many ways and I think they will have too much for Las Vegas here.
