Game Preview
The Colts suffered their 3rd straight defeat in week 8, losing 38-27 at the hands of the New Orleans Saints. QB Gardner Minshew threw 23/41 for 213 yards and two touchdowns, but also threw one pick on a day where the Colts’ defense couldn’t support the good work of their offense. Star running back Jonathan Taylor is gradually seeing a greater snap share as he recovers from the injury that caused him to miss the first 4 weeks of the season.
The Panthers picked up their first win of the season on Sunday, defeating the Houston Texans 13-15. QB Bryce Young came out victorious in the battle of the 1st and 2nd picks from the 2023 rookie draft. The 1st man off the board threw 22/31 completions for 235 yards and one touchdown. Running back Miles Sanders, who was signed from the Eagles in the offseason, will serve as backup to Chuba Hubbard in week 9 after the 24-year-old, in his 3rd year with the Panthers, performed well in Sanders’ absence.
Prediction
Carolina will be hoping to kick on after picking up their first win of the season in week 8. Sadly for Panthers’ fans I can’t see them beating a Colts team who are better than their 3-5 record suggests. Indy to win here, although it should be a tight game.
