The Panthers are now the NFL’s final winless team, after dropping to 0-5 with their loss to the Lions. QB Bryce Young continues to go through some growing pains, flashing his potential while also making rookie mistakes. He went 25 of 41 for 247 yards, 3 TDs and 2 INTs in the loss to Detroit. Veteran Adam Thielen has emerged as his clear top target. He’s reeled in 36 catches for 382 yards and 3 TDs in the last 4 weeks.

Miami bounced back from their Week 4 loss to the Bills with a solid win against the Giants. They led from start to finish and dominated on both sides of the ball. It was an important rebound game for a defense that has looked shaky at best and awful at worst over the first four weeks of the season. The Dolphins have another very winnable matchup this week, with a prime opportunity to improve to 5-1 on the season.

Prediction

This is one of the most lopsided matchups of the weekend based on projections. The Dolphins have ranked among the league’s best, especially on offense, and currently sit at 4-1. Meanwhile, the Panthers have yet to win a game. Carolina will certainly win a few games this season, but I don’t expect them to get their first win in Miami. That being said, Miami’s subpar defense could make covering the spread difficult.
