  • Seattle surged past the Panthers on Sunday, winning by a score of 37-27.
  • The Giants lost to the 49ers, 30-12, as their troubles continued to mount.
  • These two teams last met on October 30, in a game the Seahawks won 27-13.

The NFL season is in full swing. Let’s preview the upcoming Seahawks vs Giants matchup. Seattle climbed to 2-1 on the year and is aiming to make the playoffs again, while New York has had a rough season start.

Preview

The Seahawks improved to 2-1 with their win against the Panthers on Sunday. It was much of the same for Seattle with the offense providing the impetus for their success, while the defense remained inconsistent. They’ll have an opportunity to get back on track defensively against a struggling Giants offense this week. RB Kenneth Walker had 2 TDs for the 2nd straight week, and also racked up 156 yards against Carolina.

New York was unable to keep up with the 49ers on Thursday night. They played decent in the first half, but failed to keep up as the game progressed. The absence of RB Saquon Barkley was notable, and a banged up line is also making a difference. That being said, the true cause of the Giants awful start has been their defense. A unit that was expected to rank pretty high has had no pressure and terrible tackling.

Prediction

I’m tempted to pick the Giants in this game, expecting them to bounce back a bit at home. Seattle has a long trip to New Jersey, but the Giants are also commuting back from San Francisco. With so many injury question marks, New York will probably struggle in this game once again. Their defense is unlikely to be able to slow down Seattle’s offense either. I’ll take the Seahawks to win this game on the road by a few.
