Seattle defeated Cleveland on Sunday, climbing to 5-2 on the year, and now sit in 1st place in the NFC West. They’re no strangers to exceeding expectations. Last season, QB Geno Smith helped Seattle make the playoffs in a rebuild year. While Smith has been solid again, the real exodus for the Seahawks success this season has been their defense, which has climbed from 25th in the NFL in 2022 to 8th so far in 2023.

The Ravens have now won three games in a row, and hold a 1.5 game lead over the other teams in the division. Their defense continues to rank near the top of the NFL in most categories. They’ve given up the fewest points per game out of any team. Additionally, QB Lamar Jackson appears to be more comfortable this year with an improved arsenal of weapons around him. Baltimore has a key test here against Seattle.

Prediction

Both of these teams have had really solid seasons so far, and lead their respective divisions because of it. They could both be due for a loss at some point too. The Seahawks may be due first, as a team outpacing their expectations, and may struggle offensively against Baltimore’s tough defense. They had enough in the tank to take down the Browns last week, but I see the Ravens coming away with the win at home here.
