Pittsburgh was unable to leave Cleveland with a win, after being stifled by their defense. It was the first loss against an AFC North opponent the Steelers have taken. They remain in good position in a very tough division. Pittsburgh has a key 5-game stretch coming up, with two games against the banged-up Bengals and 3 other very winnable matchups. They’ll need to go at least 3-2 in that span to stay alive in the AFC.

The Bengals had a disastrous game against the Ravens. Their defense, which had been very reliable for much of the year, allowed 30+ points for the 2nd straight game. Worse yet, Cincinnati lost Joe Burrow to a wrist injury that will require surgery. Currently in last place in a brutal AFC North, the Bengals are seeing their playoff chances decrease each week. They’ll face another uphill battle against the Steelers defense.

Prediction

After losing QB Joe Burrow to injury, the Bengals will need their already struggling offense to ignite under backup QB Jake Browning. Unfortunately, they face one of the NFL’s top defenses and pass-rush units this week, which will make that quite difficult. I don’t expect Pittsburgh to blow Cincinnati out on the road, with offensive troubles of their own, but I do see them coming away with a key divisional victory in this game.
