Team News
The Carolina Hurricanes hold a narrow advantage coming into game two in the series against the New York Islanders. They made their home advantage count in the opening showdown between the sides, as they edged to a 2-1 success at PNC Arena.
Sebastian Aho and Stefan Noesen scored the goals in the victory, with both Brent Burns and Martin Necas ending the night with two assists apiece. It was a much more solid display than the scoreline suggests, as Ilya Sorokin was forced to make 35 saves for the Islanders to keep the scoreline to a respectable total.

The Islanders would have been aware of their tag as outsiders before the start of this series, and they may have grown in confidence given how they were able to limit the Canes to just two goals. Ryan Pulock scored the only goal in the game for the Islanders.
But, they will likely need to work Canes goalie Antti Raanta more in game two, as the Carolina stopper was forced to make just 25 saves in the game earlier this week. The Islanders will also need to be more productive in the power play on Wednesday, after going 0-4 on Monday.
Picks
Both teams went hard in the opening game of the series, which means we wouldnโt be surprised to see the Islanders struggle to keep pace with the Canes on Wednesday. Therefore, we see the hosts taking a 2-0 series advantage.
