Team News

The Boston Bruins maintained their excellent run of form on Monday with a straightforward 3-1 win in game one of their series against the Florida Panthers. Boston opened the scoring in the first period, before netting twice in the second to move clear of the Panthers.

Jake DeBrusk, Brad Marchand, and David Pastrnak all scored goals in the success. Meanwhile, Tyler Bertuzzi ended the night with two assists. It appears worrying for the Panthers that the Bruins could welcome back Patrice Bergeron for the second game in the series on Wednesday.

The Florida Panthers were always aware that they were up against it in this opening round series against the Bruins. They battled hard in the opening game, but as many expected, they came up short against the free-flowing Bruins. The Panthers at least got on the scoresheet, as they netted in the second period through Matthew Tkachuk.

Alex Lyon made 26 saves from 29 shots faced in the opening game, and the goalie will likely be expecting another busy night at TD Garden on Wednesday. Once again, the Panthers’ record on the road could hold them back, as they went 19-19-3 during the regular season.

Picks

The Boston Bruins made a strong start to their post-season campaign earlier this week, and there wasnโ€™t any evidence to suggest that they will face any huge issues in game two on Wednesday. Therefore, we expect a home victory in game two.
