Team News
The Florida Panthers have been one of the stories in the playoffs to this point, and their winning run was maintained against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday. Florida eliminated the Boston Bruins in the opening round, and they are looking for a second big scalp on their way to the conference finals.
The Panthers started well in Toronto in game one, as they opened the scoring in the first period. Two further goals were then added in the second period, before a fourth was netted in the final frame. Matthew Tkachuk ended the night with three assists for the Panthers, while Sam Bennett, Nick Cousins, and Brandon Montour all scored goals.

There was a growing sense that the Maple Leafs could be serious contenders after eliminating the Tampa Bay Lightning in the opening round. However, that newfound confidence was halted slightly in game one of their series against the Panthers. In truth, the Leafs only had themselves to blame, as they had more than enough chances to at least force overtime.
Toronto recorded 36 shots on goal, while they also squandered four power play opportunities. But, going behind in the series is unlikely to faze this Leafs team, as they lost game one in the opening round against the Lightning, before storming back to take the series.
Picks
Toronto was disappointing in game one of this series, and they will need to be more clinical in the attacking areas on Thursday. We expect them to be more productive in game two, and we would be very surprised if they arenโt able to level the series.
