Team News

The Vegas Golden Knights need just one more win to secure their spot in the next round of the playoffs. After losing game one, they have responded in excellent fashion with three straight wins. Their only defeat in the series so far was suffered at the T-Mobile Arena in game one. But, they have scored at least four goals in each of the following three matches.

Vegas took a commanding hold in the series in game four, as they landed a huge 4-2 win in Winnipeg. Brett Howden was a standout star in that win, as he scored twice. Meanwhile, Chandler Stephenson and Shea Theodore both registered two assists apiece.

It will require a huge effort from the Jets to remain in contention in this opening round series on Thursday. They must claim success this week, otherwise, their journey in the playoffs is over for another season. The Jets failed to make home advantage count in each of the previous two games, as they lost on both occasions to the Golden Knights.

It would appear as though the Jets just lack the clear quality in the final third to pose much of a danger to Vegas. Their only goals in game four were netted by Blake Wheeler and Pierre-Luc Dubois, but both stars missed excellent opportunities to enhance their goalscoring tallies in the post-season.

Picks

The Golden Knights look primed to secure their spot in the next round of the playoffs on Thursday. We struggle to see past Vegas, who has been excellent in each of the previous two against the Jets.
