The Carolina Hurricanes look set to be one of the strongest chances in the Eastern Conference playoffs. They enjoyed an excellent regular season campaign, as they finished second overall, boasting a record of 52-21-9. The Hurricanes excelled at home throughout the season, as they went 28-10-3 at PNC Arena.
They also come into this game after winning five of their previous ten games. The Metropolitan Division leaders ended the season on a high, as they recorded back-to-back wins. The most recent of those was a 6-4 road win against the Florida Panthers.
