Game Preview
Both teams booked their spots in the postseason in the final round of the regular season. CF Montreal finished 8th in the Eastern Conference thanks to a 2:0 win over New York City FC last Saturday. The same day, Atlanta United beat Orlando City 2:1 on the road.
Both teams have been playing pretty decent soccer lately, each with just one loss in the last five MLS games. Atlanta’s only defeat in that period happened to no other than CF Montreal.
This happened on October 2 in Georgia, with the final score being 2:1 for the visitors. Both of Montreal’s goals were scored by Josef Martinez, who used to play for Atlanta from 2017 to 2022.
He’s been Montreal’s best player this season, along with Matias Coccaro, Bryce Duke, and others. Montreal will miss a couple of first-team players, but all of their key men are fit and ready for action.

When it comes to Atlanta United, Tristan Muyumba is going to miss Tuesday’s game, which could be a big blow for this team. He’s been one of their key midfielders, playing 30 games so far. This makes him one of only four Atlanta United players who have played 30+ games in the 2024 MLS.
CF Montreal vs. Atlanta United Prediction
CF Montreal won their last four games, and we think they’re going to win another one on October 22. It’s just that they’re better than Atlanta United at this point, especially with Josef Martinez being in such incredible form.
