Event Preview
PSG have moved into favoritism for Champions League glory this season after a dominant display in their first leg against Aston Villa last week. The French champions fell behind after 35 minutes, but the Villa joy was short lived after Desire Doue scored a wonderful individual goal with just five minutes of the first half remaining.
PSG continued to dominate proceedings in the second period, and quickly made their advantage count four minutes into the second half. Khvicha Kvratskhelia scored an excellent goal to put PSG into the lead, before a potentially vitally third effort was added by Nuno Mendes in stoppage time.

However, Villa were incredibly fortunate to lose by just a two-goal margin. PSG created a huge number of chances in the first leg, racking up a staggering 29 shots and hitting the target on ten occasions.
Success against English clubs has been a common trend for PSG this season, as they have now recorded wins against Villa, Liverpool, and Man City. They are only the fourth team in Champions League history to beat three different Premier League teams in the same campaign.
As for Unai Emery’s Villa, it was yet more misery on the road in France. The West Midlands club has now lost on four of their last six visits to the nation, and they are winless on four visits to the country under Emery.
