Both Newcastle and Dortmund will be appeased with their start to the Champions League this term, as they remain in the mix for a place in the next round. The teams both sit on four points after three rounds of matches, with Dortmund landing a 1-0 win in England on matchday three against the Magpies a few weeks ago.
That meeting was the first time that these sides have collided in a European competition. However, Dortmund will be looking to record home and away wins against English opposition in the same edition of the Champions League since beating Man United in the 1996-97 campaign.

Newcastle have struggled against German opposition in recent history, as they have gone two without a win. That comes after winning each of their previous four clashes with Bundesliga opposition between 2001 and 2003.
