Match Preview

PSG will be looking to make a statement when they return to Champions League action on Wednesday. The French giants currently sit second in the Group F standings, but they could move back to the top of the table this week if they are able to land victory this week against AC Milan.

PSG comes into this match after suffering a heavy defeat on the road against Newcastle on matchday two. However, they haven’t lost back-to-back matches in the Champions League group stage since the 2004-05 season. PSG has failed to win their four previous clashes against Milan in the competition.

AC Milan have been held to goalless draws in each of their opening two matches in the Champions League. No side has managed to record three straight goalless draws since Club Brugge between November 2018 and September 2019. The Italian giants have a fine record against French opposition, as they have lost just three in their 16 previous encounters.

However, this will be the first time since 2010 that Milan will be coming up against French opposition. In the 2010-11 season, the Italian giants won home and away against Auxerre, but this looks like a more testing fixture on paper this week.

PSG vs AC Milan Prediction

It could be hard to overlook PSG this week, as they have won each of their previous three encounters with Italian clubs. We expect them to land maximum points to put their heavy defeat on matchday two behind them.
