Match Preview
The 2023-24 season was another vintage campaign in Europe for Real Madrid, with the Spanish giants landing success in the competition at Wembley against Borussia Dortmund. Their defense of the crown will also get underway against German opposition, with Stuttgart being the first visitors to the Bernabeu this term.
Real have previously faced 15 different German sides, but this will be their first competitive clash against Stuttgart. Their only defeat came at RB Leipzig in the 2022-23 season when their progression through to the knockout round was already assured. Los Blancos have only failed to score in one of their last 74 home matches in the Champions League.
The odds will be stacked against the visitors on Tuesday, as they have gone six matches without a victory in the Champions League. They have only gone on a longer winless sequence on one previous occasion. But, it could be hard to support the prospect of an away win this week.
