Match Preview

The final round of matches in Group C of the Gold Cup takes place on Tuesday, and three teams could yet finish in the second qualifying spot to reach the next round of the competition. Costa Rica will come into their final group match as the commanding favorites to get the result that they need, despite struggling in their opening two matches of the competition.

Costa Rica currently sits bottom of the Group C standings, as they have picked up just one point from their opening matches. They bounced back from defeat against Panama in the opening match over the weekend, as they were held to a 0-0 draw by El Salvador.

Martinique has been the surprise package in Group C to this point, as they sit second in the current standings. They have only managed to reach the knockout round on one occasion in their Gold Cup history, and they have crashed out in the group stage in each of their previous five appearances.

However, they gave themselves an excellent chance of progression after winning their opening match in the group against El Salvador. They were also unlucky in defeat on June 30, as they lost their second match in Group C by a 2-1 scoreline against Panama. They could be primed to upset the odds once again on Tuesday.

Costa Rica vs Martinique Prediction

Costa Rica is an extremely short price to land victory in this fixture, but we have seen little from them in their opening two matches to merit support. Therefore, we could see the draw being a likely result on Tuesday.
