Match Preview
Mexico built momentum in their opening game at the World Cup, as they put a disappointing run in the Nations League finals behind them. The nation came into the tournament with mixed expectations following a heavy defeat against the United States, but they looked back to their very best when landing an opening night victory over Honduras.
Mexico wasted little time in getting their noses ahead, as they opened the scoring after just a minute. Luis Romo was in excellent form in front of goal, as he added to his opening minute effort by registering a second after 23 minutes. Further efforts in the second half were added by Orbelin Pineda and Luis Chavez.

Haiti reached the final four of the tournament back in 2019, and they could have an excellent chance of at least matching that feat this year. They kicked off their Gold Cup campaign in fine style over the weekend, as they came from behind to register a 2-1 success over Qatar.
Haiti leveled the scores on the stroke of half time, as Duckens Nazon netted the equalizer. Meanwhile, the points were secured with virtually the last kick of the game, as Frantzdy Pierrot netted a dramatic winner in the seventh minute of injury time. The manner of the win will give them excellent confidence coming into this showdown with Mexico.
Haiti vs Mexico Prediction
Haiti has won just once in 12 previous encounters against Mexico, which includes defeats in each of the last two. It should be a close encounter between these nations, but we will be siding with Mexico booking their spot in the next round of the competition.
