Match Preview
There will be a fascinating showdown in the quarterfinals of the Gold Cup this year, as the two sides that recently competed in the final of the Nations League will lock horns. The USA have grown into the competition with every outing, and they managed to top Group A after winning two of their three matches. They rounded off the opening stage with back-to-back 6-0 wins.
The most recent of those was a 6-0 win over Trinidad & Tobago to secure the top spot in the group. Canada will be the outsiders in the betting for this quarterfinal showdown, as they have been far from convincing throughout the tournament to this stage. They only managed to secure a place in the next round on the final matchday, as they secured a 4-2 win over Cuba in Houston.
However, that success could only secure second in the standings, meaning that they face a challenging route to the final. Canada won just one of their three matches in Group D, but they are yet to lose after being held to draws against Guadeloupe and Guatemala. But, they will need to be at their very best for this showdown against the USA.

USA landed a victory over Canada in the Nations League final just over a month ago, and it looks challenging to overlook a similar result on Sunday. America has been excellent across their last two internationals, and we could see them securing a straightforward success over their rivals this weekend.
